October 7, 2009 at 8:41 pm (Records) (, , , , , , )

Dan Fuller has been setting up and selling records in the NW for decades now. Desending from the hills of Aloha, Dan always has a fairly priced selection of rock and soul often with a few more crates of jazz or international or folk or audiophile or electronic or something else all together.

Thom Jones known around town as an 80s dance DJ, record store clerk, sharp dresser and one of the most selective record sellers around. Expect to find avant rock records from the 70s, 80s and 90s, dance, electronic and punk.

Mark Strek will have a table full of fine records for your shopping pleasure.
All this and more at the Night Owl Record Show.

From Books to Blues

October 6, 2009 at 5:08 pm (Records) (, , , )

For years Tom Haydon owned and ran a rare book store in California. People selling books often have records too, and Tom ended up with a huge collection of historic blues and jazz records. After moving to Portland he decided to try selling them at the Night Owl Record Show. Tom’s table was mobbed. Many diggers found that rare country blues or Jelly Roll Morton album they had been looking for. Tom will set up in the same spot again, in the alcove on the left side of the back room.

I just talked to Peter Kihara. He is pricing up new finds now for the Night Owl Record Show. Peter always seems to have endless boxes of quality records in most every catagory. He will have 2 tables jammed with raers in the front of the hall. Check it out, nothing but quality vinyl.

The Spokane Connetion

October 2, 2009 at 8:49 pm (Records) (, , , , , , , , , , , )

One of the most popular Night Owl Record Show sellers is Tony Brown from Spokane WA.  Tony’s Spokane store, Unified Groove Merchants, is legendary around the world for it’s large stock of the rarest of rare groove, soul, jazz, rock and lots more. Look for Tony’s table on the far wall near the DJs.

Erik Beats made the move from Spokane to Portland a number of years ago to increase his visibility as a beat maker. Erik is always buying records, and will bring a box or 2 to sell. Find him sharing Tony’s table.

Randy Foss

September 4, 2009 at 11:17 pm (Records) (, , , , , , )

Randy has never missed a Night Owl Record Show. You can be sure that Randy will bring records by the Rolling Stones, Beatles, Dylan and Pink Floyd. Classic rock and is Randy’s forte. While out digging for best rock records Randy also picks up soul, folk and whatever else looks good.

Look for him where he always is, straight across from the door to the lounge.
