Tony will be making the long drive from Spokane to the Night Owl Record Show once again. His truck will be loaded down with some of the best records that ever made it out west. His store in Spokane, Unified Groove Merchants, has developed a world wide reputation. He seems to have an endless supply of rare soul, funk, psych, rock and hip hop.
If it looks weird Erik will buy it. If he doesn’t like it he will sell it. That means Erik’s table will be full of weird, strange and unusual records in every category and some that there is on category for.
Soon Hall Of Records will join 99 Records as Portland’s newest record store.
Hall Of Records owners Justin and Katie have been putting in long hours at their store front on SE Belmont getting ready for their grand opening. HoR will be more than just a record store, there will be beer, sandwiches and djs playing into the night to make your record shopping experience enjoyable. Kind of like the Night Owl Record Show.
If you can’t wait for them to open in May, come by the Night Owl Record Show on April 17th. Justin will bring out a selection of carefully chosen soul, jazz and funk lps for you dig.
The Night Owl Record Show is excited to have Matt from Light In The Attic coming down on April 17th for the show.
Matt’s idea with Light In the Attic was “to build a label which placed as much emphasis on releasing quality reissues as it did developing new talent.
Since [their] first Free Design release, Light In The Attic has proven that its company mission is simple: put out great music, wherever it may be found, however it may sound. It’s this dedication to music – first and foremost – that has already created a diverse and respected catalog of releases. LITA’s commitment to quality, as well as its disdain for convention, has already produced instant classics.
Highlights include the critically acclaimed Wheedle’s Groove compilation, an exuberant affirmation of Seattle’s soul heritage; the reintroduction of Sixto Rodriguez, a Detroit born singer-songwriter who effortlessly blends the sounds of folk, psych, and soul. And who can ignore the recent reissues of Greenwich folk great Karen Dalton, funk goddess Betty Davis, and legendary French troubadour Serge Gainsbourg?”
Matt will be bringing lots of vinyl Light In The Attic releases. Expect to see the Monks and the new Kris Kristofferson release of early demos.
Fat Cat Family Records with Billy from Philly will be back with the same kind of stuff they have brought before. Soul, northern soul, blues, funk, pop, jazz and TONS of 45′s!!!!!
Many of the same great sellers who were at last October’s Night Owl Record Show will be back again.
Seattle prog & Psych rock specialist Pete will be returning to the Night Owl Record Show with more mind melting wax.
Mike Samples, who promotes the Seattle Center Record Shows, will bring another fine mix of funk, soul, jazz, Latin and more.
Portland DJs Kit and Steve will share a table and their knowledge of rare records. They are sure to have a great mix of records for djs, including modern soul and Brazilian discs.
William Harker will be making the long drive down from Everett Washington. With a little of everything all bargain priced, William’s table is a diggers paradise.
Once again Doug will come over the mountains and through the gorge to sell at the Night Owl Record Show. Doug has a habit of being the first seller selling. With quality records and great prices he is a Night Owl favorite.
Randy Foss will be joining us again with his deep bins of rock classics and more.
The Record Monger from Oly will be back again. Craig has been crawling in the back rooms and attics of the Pacific Northwest finding the records you want.
